Twilight Greenaway

is a journalist and poet living in the Bay Area

A quick bio:

1) Twilight is my real name. I didn't choose it, I was not named after a teenage vampire movie and yes I was teased as a kid.

2) This is not a blog. I realize it looks like one but it is really just a collection of things I write for other blogs, magazines and websites, including (so far) Culinate, Civil Eats, GOOD, Ethicurean, Edible SF. Some of this content appeared originally in the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture CUESA E-letter, which I produce, write and edit weekly. (But the current site's format is not ideal -- and I'm working on changing that as we speak -- so I prefer to share it here). I love working for CUESA but I also believe it's crucial to continue writing outside the job.

3) I'm originally from Hawaii, was raised on an organic farm, and love to grow my own food. I know, it sounds hippie dippie (with the name and all) but I'm actually pretty normal otherwise. I swear.

4) I have worked in a variety of web-related capacities, including 5 years as an editor (and co-founder) for WireTap Magazine, and a community manager and web writer for Current TV. I have lived in the Bay Area since 1997, minus one fabulous year in New York in 2002-2003. I love the Bay Area, but also think a lot about living somewhere more urban or more affordable, even if it would mean giving up the best food in the country and the most temperate weather.
